How licensing works
Try the driver for a month. License it per project when it earns its keep.
Try first
The driver runs free for 30 days on each controller, counted from the first time that controller checks in. No account, no code, nothing to type. After 30 days the buttons stop acting on taps until the project is licensed, and say so on their Properties page.
Projects and project codes
Create a customer and a project in your account. A project is one controller. Each project has a short code such as K7QX-4M2P. Type it into any button's Project Code property in Composer and the controller is linked to the project on its next check-in. Every One Tap Button on that controller then belongs to the project.
Licences
One licence unlocks the driver on one project, for as many buttons as the project needs. Licences you buy sit in your account's pool until you assign them to a project, and can be moved between your projects at any time.
Your showroom and your home are free
Every approved dealer account gets two free controllers: one for your showroom and one for your own home. Register each under Account in the portal, by the MAC address shown as Controller MAC in the driver's Properties. Every driver on those controllers is licensed automatically: no trial, nothing to buy.
Replacing a controller
When a new controller checks in with a project's code while the project already has one, the swap waits for your confirmation in your account. The old controller keeps working until then.
If the internet is down
The driver checks in once a day. If the service cannot be reached, the last answer stands for 14 days; a driver that has never completed a check works for 3 days. Nothing about the home leaves the controller except the controller's MAC address, the driver version and the OS version.
